We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.

Do not forge forward if the creepy crawlies of the world BUG you. Spiders and moths and bees lie ahead….. You have been warned .
I am the first to admit that I never thought of them.
Bugs.
Bees. Dragonflies. Ladybugs. Spiders.
Especially spiders.
But with my photography, an interest has been piqued.
I’ve joined an Alberta Bug group. I’m learning proper names. Characteristics (I can tell you the difference between a male and female spider).
It has thrust my macro/close up photography into high gear.
And my passion for finding human elements in nature (skies, vegetation, bugs, animals…) just seems to fuel the fire.
These are all found in my back yard. And I absolutely adore that my children have been so supportive in this endeavor. Calling me over to the sand pile to capture a cute jumping spider. Or telling me they have heard or saw their first bees of the year.
Find your thing and don’t let anyone talk you out of it.
Not everyone loves bugs - especially spiders. But if you ever want to talk spiders, I’m all ears….. and eyes… and legs….
