The Keepers of the Bees

Thursday, May 13th:

This was the highlight of my day.

I went to deliver food to my husband in the field and I saw this beekeeping crew setting up their hives. I jumped out of my car and yelled at them... "Hey! Can I take your picture?" and I sort of shake my camera at them. #awkward #sorrynotsorry

They said sure and carried on with their job for a minute or two, then they jumped into a group pose. It was a really distanced (long zoom lens) and quick interaction (they were working and I had warm food in the car) - but they seemed like really cool people. I mean - they work with BEES! One of the most important parts of our food system.... that sting! And real honey straight from the producer is the best ever! As a farmer, I love learning about how and where food comes from. #kudos #producers
