End of the Year Check in

Hard to believe 2021 is almost coming to a close. The holidays are always so busy and stressful and I am definitely feeling that.

I started a month long project Dec 1st… taking a photo from the same spot every day at the same time. Little did I realize that it would be super difficult since the only time I would be home around the same time every day… would be in the dark. And some of the first set of images were blurry. And I have already missed a day. But it’s a good first step into taking on larger, longer type projects.

I admit I haven't been taking many other photos lately. Partly because I feel like I don’t have the time. And partly because I have been not feeling super positive and joyful.

So in an effort to get back to feeling more myself, I know I need to be creative and practice gratitude every day. And my photography allows me to do just that. Sunsets, snowflakes, kids, animals, bugs, plants, people, etc. I need to make time for the things that make me feel happy.

I’m working on a 365 day Photography Challenge to start January 1st 2022. I’m very excited about it. After not following through with what I said I would do for 2021 (chose something really over my head and out of my hands), I need to make sure I make it realistic and achievable.

Once I finalize it over this week, i’ll share here in case anyone wants to join in or follow along.

Working to find my joy again.
