Post 3: The Shift

This image was my first ever RAW image. I was taking a course at a local site with 2 brilliant photographers who I refer to as my Fairy Godmothers now.

It had been a damp year and there were mushrooms everywhere. (Which are so cool by the way!) I had been dabbling in close up photography for months on our farm…. But this day… it was life altering for me and my photography. Not only did a learn a lot of technical stuff… I was encouraged and praised and they were so incredibly real about it all. The best thing I took from it.

Leave

Your

Camera

On

And

Available.

I started leaving it on my counter or taking it with me everywhere. It meant it was Available.

Always.

The lynx. The owls. So many flowers and bugs….. never would have happened if I didn’t have my camera just riding along with me.

So this photo of a photo…. because I had no way to process a RAW image when I took it… meant so much to me.

The first set of people who saw something in me. I can't imagine where I would be without them.

It is always important to encourage and share what we know. To be real. To be supportive. You never know when that will change someone’s life for the best.
